Aptos Foundation to halve APT staking rewards, cap total supply at 2.1 billion
Aptos Foundation proposed cutting the annual APT staking reward rate to 2.6 percent from 5.19 percent, while raising gas fees by a factor of 10 and setting a total supply cap of 2.1 billion APT. It said it stakes 210 million APT, about 18 percent of current supply, permanently locked and not for sale or distribution, funding operations only from staking rewards. It also plans performance-linked ecosystem grants and may buy APT with cash and future revenue.

Solana pushes plan to burn up to 9,000 SOL a day as vote nears
Solana validators have moved a governance proposal to raise daily SOL burns and slow new issuance to the stage just before a formal vote. The proposal would combine two changes, including a resource-based fee system to expand burns and a faster disinflation schedule that would bring forward the date Solana reaches its 1.5 percent inflation floor. Backing stood at about 63 million SOL as of Aug. 5.

Aave to remove low-adoption reserves, end services on six small blockchains
DeFi protocol Aave has put forward a governance proposal to remove low-use assets from its reserves and end services deployed on six smaller blockchain networks. The move affects $98.10 million in deposited assets and $15.60 million in outstanding debt, The Block reported. The proposal recommends removing 50 low-adoption reserves across 11 Aave V3 deployments and 21 maturing Pendle principal tokens, and fully shutting deployments on Sonic, Scroll, zkSync, Metis, Soneium and Aptos.
