[DigitalToday reporter Seok Dae-geon (석대건)] Samsung Electronics' third-quarter operating profit rose more than 8.8 times from a year earlier. Samsung Electronics said on Wednesday it posted 195 trillion won in consolidated revenue and 107.4 trillion won in operating profit for the third quarter this year. From a year earlier, revenue rose 126.6 percent and operating profit increased 782.5 percent.
The operating margin was 55.1 percent. From the previous quarter, revenue rose 13.7 percent and operating profit increased 20 percent.
Cumulative revenue this year is 500.37 trillion won and operating profit is 254.13 trillion won. Compared with the same period a year earlier, revenue rose 108.7 percent and operating profit increased 980 percent.
Samsung Electronics is also accepting inquiries in advance on management conditions and other matters to strengthen communication with investors and improve understanding. The company said it plans to answer issues of high interest to shareholders during its earnings conference call. It plans to disclose detailed results by business division later this month.
