Korea launches agentic AI alliance with 260 companies and institutions
South Korea is launching a public-private consultative body with about 260 companies and institutions to compete for leadership in the AI agent ecosystem. The Ministry of Science and ICT held the launch ceremony in Seoul on Tuesday and activated four working groups covering industry, technology, ecosystem, and safety and trust. Officials and industry leaders outlined plans to match demand and suppliers, improve interoperability and benchmarks, design orchestration and marketplaces, and build safety evaluation frameworks for AI agents.

Kakao recruits fourth cohort for Kakao Tech Campus to train regional talent
Kakao said on Tuesday it has begun recruiting trainees for the fourth cohort of its Kakao Tech Campus programme to train regional university students as artificial intelligence developers. The company will select 150 students from five national hub universities, including Kangwon National University and Pusan National University. The programme integrates frontend and backend tracks and adds a course on agentic AI services. Applications run through April 15, with classes starting online in May.

Frontend developer hiring cliff becomes reality as Spacey sees AI impact on site
Spacey, which operates the DIO freelance matching service, said on Sunday that automation of frontend implementation driven by the spread of AI is advancing quickly in the field, sharply reducing demand for hiring and outsourcing frontend developers. It said demand is rising for AI engineers and full-stack workers. The company said UI automation by AI coding tools is reducing the amount of work that must be split among multiple people and is being seen first in outsourcing and freelance markets.
