Five game industry associations call for tax credit for game production costs
Five South Korean game and e-sports associations urged the government and parliament to add a tax credit for game production costs to the 2026 tax revision plan and to extend and expand an e-sports tournament operating cost credit set to expire at year-end. They said games account for about 60 percent of K-content exports but are excluded from existing production cost tax credits. They also called for raising the e-sports credit rate and expanding its geographic scope nationwide.
