Korea Investment Securities to cooperate with Kakao Group on digital assets, from issuance and distribution to wallets

Korea Investment Securities will work with Kakao Group to build financial infrastructure related to digital assets, including issuance and distribution, investment, remittances and settlement services, and electronic wallets. The brokerage said it signed a strategic memorandum of understanding with Kakao, Kakao Bank and Kakao Pay to jointly develop services and marketing. The partners plan to develop financial services using digital assets and cooperate on key infrastructure such as wallets and custody.

Hanwha Investment & Securities to raise up to 900 billion won, seek IFA status and expand digital asset business

Hanwha Investment & Securities plans a capital boost of up to 900 billion won to enter the integrated financial investment business category and expand its digital asset business. It approved a 500 billion won third-party share sale and the issuance of up to 400 billion won in hybrid capital securities. The share sale targets major shareholder Hanwha Asset Management and its parent, Hanwha Life. The firm said it will use the funds to strengthen core businesses and invest in digital-asset platforms and blockchain infrastructure.
