Xiaomi to launch smartphone chips annually, developing AI assistant for overseas markets
Xiaomi plans to step up smartphone chip development and release a new processor each year, CNBC reported. The company launched its 3-nanometre XRing O1 chip last year and plans annual upgrades. President Lu Weibing said Xiaomi will launch devices with the new chip in China this year and later introduce them overseas. Xiaomi is also developing an AI assistant for overseas markets and may work with Google’s Gemini model.
