Cognition CEO says autonomous AI Devin is not meant to eliminate human developers
Scott Wu, CEO of Cognition, which developed the AI coding agent Devin, said the tool is not intended to replace human developers but to raise their productivity. He said Devin aims to handle end-to-end development work and is most valuable for maintenance tasks developers tend to avoid. Wu also cautioned against inflated expectations, describing Devin as between junior and mid-level engineers, and stressed that humans must retain final decision-making authority.

AI coding startup Cognition raises over $1 billion at $25 billion valuation, ARR nears $492 million
AI coding startup Cognition raised more than $1 billion at a pre-money valuation of $25 billion. TechCrunch reported the valuation marked a sharp rise from an October post-money valuation of $10.2 billion after a $400 million funding round in September last year. Cognition develops Devin, an autonomous AI software engineer. The round was led by Lux Capital and General Catalyst, with participation from Founders Fund and 8VC, among others.

Salesforce offers Headless 360 as answer to CRM’s future in AI agent era
Salesforce’s next-generation agent development environment, Salesforce Headless 360, unveiled at its recent TDX event, is being described as the boldest architecture change in the company’s history. The product allows AI agents to call and execute Salesforce platform functions directly through APIs, MCP tools and command-line interface commands without human clicks. Salesforce highlighted three features: building agents in any way, deploying them to any screen, and tools to build trusted agents, including an open-sourced Agent Script language.
