Wemade Max Q1 operating loss widens to 15.3 billion won on higher investment costs
Wemade Max posted a wider consolidated operating loss in the first quarter as investment costs rose, including fees tied to sales growth and spending on new game development and staffing. Wemade Max said on March 24 it will switch to a sole CEO structure under Son Myeon-seok and reorganise around five key studios. The company said the move aims to strengthen execution of its 2026 global portfolio strategy and speed decision-making on key intellectual property and strategic projects. Co-CEO Lee Gil-hyeong will remain on the board and focus on subsidiary Lightcon. Wemade Next CEO Park Jung-soo will resign, with Seong Jeong-guk appointed as successor.

Wemade Max soft launches idle game \'Windrunner Raising\'
Wemade Max said on Thursday it has begun a soft launch for \"Windrunner Raising\", an idle role-playing game being developed by its subsidiary Lightcon. The game reinterprets the \"Windrunner\" intellectual property, which has recorded a cumulative 60 million downloads, into an idle RPG featuring hack-and-slash action. Lightcon will run the soft launch in the Philippines and Hong Kong and plans a formal release this year in global markets, including South Korea, after reflecting local retention and feedback.
