LG Uplus launches AI financial secretary with Welcome Savings Bank
LG Uplus has jointly developed and officially launched an AI financial secretary with Welcome Savings Bank, applying generative AI technology for the first time in Korea’s savings bank sector. The service is integrated into the bank’s mobile app, Welcom Digital Bank. It combines the EXAONE large language model from LG AI Research with Welcome Savings Bank data and LG Uplus’ AI agent development and operations expertise.

Welcome Savings Bank introduced a co-CEO system as it pursues an AI-driven shift in retail finance while strengthening corporate and investment banking. The bank said on March 31 its board appointed Welcome Savings Bank Vice President Park Jong-sung and Welcome F&D CEO Son Dae-hee as new co-chief executives. Park will oversee corporate and investment finance, while Son will lead strategy, support and retail finance, including an AI-based financial transformation.
