Yeo Han-koo steps up push to resolve trade issues at Davos forum

South Korea\'s top trade negotiator Yeo Han-koo held broad trade diplomacy at the World Economic Forum in Davos, meeting trade ministers and executives about 50 times, the industry ministry said on Jan. 23. He discussed bilateral issues with the United States and held talks on steel import restrictions with the European Union and Canada. He also pushed for faster negotiations on multiple FTAs and attended WTO ministerial meetings focused on restoring the multilateral trading order.

Yeo Han-ku to attend Davos forum, push IFD agreement

South Korea\'s trade minister Yeo Han-ku will attend the 2026 World Economic Forum annual meeting in Davos, the industry ministry said on Jan. 19. He will speak in sessions on next-generation global trade, expanding multilateral trade and investment, and growth strategies for emerging markets such as ASEAN. Yeo will meet executives from Merck, Amazon Web Services and Maersk to discuss investment and cooperation. He will also attend WTO meetings on incorporating the IFD agreement into the WTO system.
