W Games 2025 operating profit falls 6.7 percent to 232.1 billion won
W Games posted its highest-ever annual revenue in 2025, but profitability weakened. The company reported revenue of 719.9 billion won, operating profit of 232.1 billion won and net profit of 179.8 billion won. Revenue rose 13.6 percent from a year earlier, while operating profit fell 6.7 percent and net profit declined 26.1 percent. Fourth-quarter revenue and operating profit rose, but net profit dropped to 44.6 billion won.

Game industry opts for share cancellations over investment amid \'value-up\' push
A rush of treasury share cancellations is sweeping South Korea\'s game industry. While presented as shareholder returns aligned with the government\'s “value-up” drive, some see it as a defensive move by companies that have lost growth momentum. Firms including NCSoft, Com2uS, Wemade Play and Devsisters have cancelled shares even as profits weaken. Critics say cash is being diverted from investment in areas such as AI and console markets to support share prices.

W Games holds AI game session seminar with Paxie Games to boost global R&D synergy
W Games said on Jan. 20 that executives and AI lab developers from its unit Paxie Games visited South Korea to hold an “AI Game Session” seminar. The event shared AI-based game development processes and real cases with W Games development staff. Sessions included the AI Studio model and a case study of Wigl Escape. The company cited download and user growth at Paxie Games since W Games acquired it.
