Audi CEO says era of global \'world cars\' is over
Audi is moving away from a development strategy centered on global common models and is strengthening market-specific vehicle strategies for key markets such as the United States and China. CEO Gernot Doellner said the brand’s global strategy will remain, but vehicle development will increasingly prioritize regional consumer needs. He cited the new Q9 as a U.S.-first model and said China requires a stronger “Local for Local” approach with localized production, supply chains and ecosystems.

CleanTechnica said this trend could lead to a reshaping of the global auto industry. Volkswagen delays electric Golf launch to after 2028
Volkswagen has delayed the launch of its electric Golf (ID.Golf) to after 2028, judging that its current electric vehicle lineup can cover the market for now. CEO Thomas Schaefer confirmed the delay in London and said the electric Golf is not needed in 2028. The model was planned on the next-generation SSP platform, which is being developed with Rivian, and the platform schedule may also slip.
