Leaving VMware could mean more complex and costlier infrastructure
Some companies are considering breaking with VMware after Broadcom shifted licensing to a subscription model, raising costs, but switching core software is not easy and could bring side effects. Gartner research vice president Paul Delory warned companies that leave may end up with more complex and less efficient infrastructure. He said there is no technical reason to choose rival hypervisors and no one-to-one replacement for VMware Cloud Foundation.

Cisco to launch in-house hypervisor to cut solution customers\' reliance on VMware
Cisco will release its application-specific hypervisor, NFVIS-for-UC, within the current quarter. It targets companies seeking to virtualise Cisco communications solutions such as Unified Communications Manager (CUCM). Techzine reported the product provides an environment to run Cisco applications without VMware Cloud Foundation. Cisco has used VMware as a standard platform, but customer costs rose after Broadcom acquired VMware and pushed VCF bundles, driving demand for alternatives.

HS Hyosung Information Systems to provide end-to-end solutions from AI adoption to operations
HS Hyosung Information Systems said it will broaden its AI offerings beyond integrated GPU server and storage platforms to include AI agents and LLMOps. At an AI transformation strategy briefing on Thursday, it outlined a portfolio shift from hardware-focused infrastructure to software solutions. The company said it will build a full-stack AI platform and expand support for DataOps, MLOps and multimodal data management through partners. It also introduced UCP Private Cloud AI and data platforms VSP One and VSP 360.
