The global electric-vehicle market lost momentum in January 2026 as U.S. and Chinese tax incentives were reduced or ended, cutting plug-in registrations 6% from a year earlier to about 1.2 million, a report cited by Cleantechnica showed. Tesla’s Model Y remained the top-selling model with 53,074 units, down 7%, while Model 3 sales fell 47% to under 15,000. Growth remained strong in parts of Asia and some emerging markets as Chinese exporters expanded overseas.

Canva is sustaining growth after surpassing $4 billion in 2025 annual recurring revenue, driven by adopting AI and integrating with large language models, TechCrunch reported. Monthly active users exceed 265 million and paid users total 31 million. Its enterprise B2B business grew 100 percent year on year to $500 million in ARR. Canva is expanding paid subscriptions in emerging markets and promoting integrations with chatbots such as ChatGPT and Claude.

Tether halts Bitcoin mining in Uruguay amid rising energy costs
Tether, issuer of the USDT stablecoin, has halted Bitcoin mining in Uruguay. The company said it ended operations but remains committed to long-term plans in Latin America. The move came weeks after reports that Tether owed 4.8 million dollars in power fees to Uruguay’s state utility. Tether notified the labour ministry of the shutdown and reportedly dismissed 30 local staff. It had partnered with a licensed firm on mining since May 2023.
