AI hacking spurs shift in corporate security spending priorities

As AI hacking spreads, companies are not only increasing cybersecurity budgets but also changing spending priorities, benefiting some newer security technologies while sidelining parts of the traditional stack. Large firms are raising outlays for tools to monitor employee AI use, find vulnerabilities ahead of hackers and speed patching. Some are cutting spending on traditional vulnerability management, log collection and penetration testing. Gartner forecasts strong growth in the AI security market through 2028.

Tesla, Rivian and GM keep Apple CarPlay at bay. What drives their stance

Tesla, Rivian and General Motors are cited as major automakers that still do not support Apple’s in-car interface CarPlay. All three maintain positions that exclude or limit CarPlay, emphasising their own vehicle software strategies. Tesla has not officially supported CarPlay, though reports have suggested development work. Rivian executives have repeatedly said there are no plans to add it. GM has defended a decision to drop CarPlay from future EVs and to gradually reduce support more broadly.

Prominent economist says bitcoin is not a safe haven asset, cannot hedge currency debasement

Arguments have resurfaced that bitcoin is difficult to view as a safe haven like gold or as a store of value. As bitcoin has recently underperformed gold and other precious metals, questions have also been raised about its role as a hedge against currency value declines. Brookings Institution senior fellow Robin Brooks said bitcoin was not a safe haven asset, while Bitwise Alpha Strategies head Jeff Park argued that bitcoin’s response should be assessed alongside interest-rate structure and macro changes.
