Kakao steps up AI ethics governance, launches external advisory panel
Kakao said on Wednesday it has launched an external advisory panel under its AI and technology ethics subcommittee to strengthen its AI ethics governance. The move aims to pre-empt potential social risks from the spread of agentic AI and to establish internal policies in line with fast-changing domestic and international environments, including Korea’s AI basic law and global AI safety regulation. The panel consists of seven external experts spanning academia, law and an international organisation.

Naver donates $300,000 for Venezuela earthquake relief
Naver said on Thursday it donated $300,000 in relief funds to support Venezuela’s recovery after a recent strong earthquake. The donation will be delivered through its online donation platform Happybean and will be split equally among UNICEF, the UN refugee agency and the World Food Programme. Naver also cited past support for disaster recovery, including donations for flood and wildfire damage in South Korea and for the 2023 Turkey-Syria earthquake.

HYBE has published a regular report detailing key environmental, social and governance achievements it pursued last year, including protecting artists\' rights, improving fan experience and managing safety and health. The company released its 2025 Sustainability Management Report on its official website on June 30. It named four major issues: a healthy and flexible workplace, better customer experience, information security and personal data protection, and ethical management and compliance.
