Valarian raises $50 million to target sovereign AI market for defence system protection
London-based defence-focused AI infrastructure startup Valarian Technologies has raised $50 million in a Series A funding round to target the sovereign AI market. The investment was led by New Enterprise Associates, its first European defence tech startup deal, with participation from Lightbank, XTX Markets, Sequoia and LitVC. Valarian supplies AI infrastructure for sensitive government and regulated-industry computing environments and offers separate products for commercial clients and defence agencies.

Roswell, New Mexico, is running an ordinance that prevents the city from selling bitcoin donations for at least 10 years, according to reports. Its bitcoin reserve totals 0.173 BTC, valued at about $13,312. The reserve was built through donations starting in April 2025. The ordinance also limits annual spending to within 21 percent even if the reserve exceeds $1 million, and allows expenditures only once every five years.
