JPMorgan acknowledges closing Trump\'s accounts after U.S. Capitol riot, says not for political reasons
JPMorgan closed U.S. President Donald Trump\'s accounts after the Jan. 6, 2021 U.S. Capitol riot, Cointelegraph reported on Sunday. Dan Wilkening, a former chief administrative officer at JPMorgan, said in court filings that the bank notified Trump’s side in February 2021 it would close certain accounts. Trump filed a $5 billion damages lawsuit, alleging the closures were politically motivated. JPMorgan denied this.
