AWS signs series of major chip deals as Pinterest expands use of Amazon chips
Pinterest has signed an agreement to spend $4 billion on Amazon Web Services infrastructure through 2031, The Information reported. The deal is Pinterest\'s largest infrastructure contract to date. Under the agreement, Pinterest will use AWS Trainium chips for AI workloads and expand its use of Amazon\'s Graviton CPUs, which currently handle about one-third of its infrastructure. Pinterest plans to run large language and vision-language models for visual search.

Microsoft in talks to supply in-house Maia AI chip to Anthropic in first external deal
Microsoft is discussing a plan to supply its in-house artificial intelligence chip to Anthropic, potentially marking its first external customer for the Maia line. CNBC reported the companies are negotiating Anthropic’s use of the customised chip. A person familiar with the matter said no final agreement has been reached. Anthropic has cited computing constraints as demand rises for Claude and Claude Code, and it has outlined major infrastructure spending and broader chip sourcing.

OpenAI to offer its models on AWS Bedrock, boosting enterprise push
OpenAI will provide its models through Amazon Web Services, CNBC reported on April 28, a day after it decided to end its exclusive partnership with Microsoft. AWS customers will be able to access OpenAI models and the Codex coding agent through Amazon Bedrock. OpenAI had not been listed on Bedrock due to its contract with Microsoft, but can now add its models after partnership adjustments.
