Apple files lawsuit against OpenAI alleging broad theft of trade secrets
Apple has filed a lawsuit against OpenAI, alleging the company stole Apple’s intellectual property and confidential information to develop its own consumer hardware. Apple said OpenAI took trade secrets broadly, from technical staff to its chief hardware officer and business partners. It is seeking damages and an injunction, including an order to stop OpenAI using the information. Apple also named OpenAI chief hardware officer Tang Tan and former employee Chang Liu as defendants, as well as Jony Ive’s startup IO Products.
