OpenAI forms joint venture to help companies adopt AI, buys AI consulting and engineering firm Tomoro
OpenAI said it has formed a joint venture with investment firms, consultancies and system integrators to help companies adopt and integrate AI. The venture, called the OpenAI Deployment Company, was established with 19 partners including TPG, Advent, Bain Capital and Brookfield. OpenAI raised more than $4 billion from partner companies and put the venture’s total valuation at about $10 billion. It also acquired AI consulting and engineering firm Tomoro.

OpenAI, Anthropic set up AI joint ventures with private equity firms to battle for enterprise market
OpenAI and Anthropic are setting up joint ventures to target the enterprise market. Anthropic said on May 4 it will form a venture focused on corporate AI services with Blackstone, Hellman & Friedman and Goldman Sachs, alongside other investors. The Wall Street Journal put the venture’s valuation at $1.5 billion. Bloomberg reported OpenAI is raising $4 billion for The Development Company at a $10 billion valuation.

Uber considers buying control of Kakao Mobility?
Uber and Kakao Mobility both appeared to distance themselves from reports that Uber is weighing an acquisition of management control of Kakao Mobility. Uber was reported to have conveyed its intent to the major shareholder side and to be conducting due diligence in connection with a possible stake purchase. Kakao Mobility cited lack of knowledge, while a local Uber Taxi official said there was no official position and that it was being checked.
