OpenAI said on Sunday local time it has formed a joint venture called the OpenAI Deployment Company with investment firms and consultancies to support companies’ AI adoption and integration.
The venture was established jointly with 19 investment firms, consulting companies and systems integrators including TPG, Advent, Bain Capital and Brookfield.
For the venture, OpenAI raised more than $4 billion in funding from partner companies, and the total valuation is about $10 billion.
OpenAI also said it acquired Tomoro, an AI consulting and engineering company, along with the launch of the venture. It did not disclose detailed terms of the deal.
About 150 forward deployed engineers will join the venture through the Tomoro acquisition. The venture’s creation is a move to increase AI spending by corporate customers. Anthropic also formed a separate joint venture in early May with private equity firms including Blackstone to target the corporate market.
