LG Electronics joins South Korea partners to restore marine ecosystems
LG Electronics will use functional new materials to help restore marine ecosystems. The company said it signed an agreement with the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, South Gyeongsang province and the Korea Fisheries Resources Agency to create seaweed forests off Deokmyeong-ri in Goseong county from 2026 to 2029. The project will apply LG Marine Balance, which releases mineral ions in water. LG also said it has proprietary control technology and is expanding production capacity.

LG Electronics to help restore Suncheon Bay tidal flat ecosystem with Marine Glass
LG Electronics will apply its new Marine Glass material to about 1,500 square metres of the Suncheon Bay tidal flats as part of a project to restore the ecosystem and verify the growth of salt marsh plants and carbon absorption efficiency. The company signed a memorandum of understanding with Suncheon city and Seoul National University’s Blue Carbon project group on joint implementation of a blue carbon ecosystem and carbon neutrality.
