MS CEO warns few AI winners could hollow out entire industries

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella warned that if economic value concentrates in a small number of AI providers, industries could lose control of corporate knowledge and weaken. He said a structure in which company knowledge is absorbed into AI models could leave only a few model suppliers profiting while industries lose accumulated learning assets. Nadella urged a broader AI ecosystem in which companies retain control of their own learning systems and expertise.

Agentic interface race heats up as services follow where data sits

Snowflake said at its Snowflake Summit 2026 that it aims to expand beyond data storage and analytics to become a gateway for enterprises using AI agents. Executives described a three-way competitive landscape involving business application vendors, model providers and data platforms. They argued services will gravitate to where data accumulates and said operating Snowflake Intelligence and Coco helps capture usage and telemetry data to improve products and support customers.

Snowflake agentic OS-style strategy gains traction, AI brand overhauled

Snowflake on June 1 held its annual Snowflake Summit 2026 in San Francisco and unveiled a range of new products targeting the AI agent market, while revamping its branding. It renamed Snowflake Intelligence to CoWork and rebranded its coding agent Cortex Code as CoCo. The company highlighted an Agentic Control Plane and introduced tools including Datastream, Horizon Context and Cortex Sense, along with new connectors and performance improvements.
