Societe Generale adds stablecoins to Canton Network for tokenised finance
French bank Societe Generale will use its own stablecoins, EURCV and USDCV, on the Canton Network to support tokenised collateral, repo financing and institutional payments. Its digital assets unit Societe Generale-FORGE will deploy the euro-backed EURCV and dollar-backed USDCV on the network. The stablecoins will be available only to permitted participants outside the United States and are not registered under U.S. securities laws.

Digital euro to use European standards instead of Visa, Mastercard
The European Central Bank will adopt three European open payment standards for the digital euro infrastructure to reduce reliance on Visa and Mastercard in the euro zone, BeInCrypto reported on April 26. The ECB signed agreements with the European Cards Payment Cooperation, the Nexo Standards and the Berlin Group. The standards cover contactless payments, merchant and ATM transactions, and account-based transfers. Separately, major European banks are expanding moves to embed cryptocurrency trading into existing regulated platforms.

Crypto accounting firm Cryptio raises $45 million as institutional demand rises
Crypto accounting software developer Cryptio raised $45 million in a Series B funding round as institutional demand increased, CoinDesk reported on March 12 local time. The round was led by BlackFin Capital Partners and Sentinel Global, with participation from existing investors 1kx, BlueYard Capital and Ledger Cathay Capital. Cryptio said it will use the funds to enhance corporate crypto lending and blockchain-based asset monitoring functions.
