Shinhan Venture Investment to cooperate with SBI Group on Korea-Japan startup investment
Shinhan Venture Investment said it has signed a business agreement with Japan\'s SBI Group to build a Korea-Japan investment partnership focused on jointly nurturing startups and expanding cross-border investment. The companies plan to cooperate on identifying cross-border and co-investment opportunities, supporting global market entry, business linkages, reviewing the creation of jointly managed funds and sharing information through investor networks. Executives from both sides said the partnership would support innovative startups and strengthen global expansion.

Dinotisia raises 90 billion won in Series A to step up AI storage business
Dinotisia, an AI storage specialist, has raised 90 billion won in Series A funding to expand its vector database and dedicated semiconductor business. Elohim Partners led the round, joined by multiple new institutional investors and follow-on participation from existing backers. The company is developing the Seahorse vector database and a Vector Data Processing Unit chip. It plans to use the funds to upgrade products, prepare VDPU commercialization, expand globally and hire talent, while pursuing an IPO.

Upstage raises 180 billion won in first close of Series C round
Upstage said on April 15 it has completed the first close of a Series C funding round totaling 180 billion won. The fundraising valued the company at more than 1 trillion won. Silicon Valley-based venture capital firm Sages Partners joined as the lead investor, while Premier Partners, Shinhan Venture Investment, Mirae Asset Venture Investment, KB Securities and InterVest participated as follow-on investors. Axiom Asia, Hyundai Motor and Kia, and Woori Venture Partners joined as new investors.
