Shinhan Bank partners with Yonsei holdings to back innovative startups

Shinhan Bank will work with Yonsei University Technology Holdings Co to discover and support startups based on university technology. The bank said it signed a strategic partnership agreement on Oct. 6 at Yonsei University’s main building in Seoul. The two sides will cooperate on jointly identifying promising entrepreneurs and startups, investment and incubation, participation in the TIPS programme and related linkages, and providing infrastructure and networks for technology commercialisation.

Digital Asset expands cooperation with Shinhan, Hanwha, targets onchain shift in South Korea finance

U.S. blockchain infrastructure company Digital Asset is expanding cooperation with South Korean financial firms including Shinhan Financial Group and Hanwha Investment & Securities. Co-founder and CEO Yuval Rooz called South Korea an interesting market for moving traditional finance onchain. Shinhan has stepped up governance participation and investment tied to the Canton Network, while Hanwha completed a strategic investment after signing an MOU. Digital Asset is also pursuing Canton Network use aligned with Korean regulations.

Shinhan Financial to expand tokenised finance cooperation with Digital Asset and Canton Foundation

Shinhan Financial Group said on Monday it will expand cooperation with Digital Asset and the Canton Foundation in tokenised finance and digital asset infrastructure. The group said it met Digital Asset co-founder and CEO Yuval Rooz and Canton Foundation head Vibh Dewakar at its headquarters in central Seoul to discuss group-wide cooperation. Shinhan Financial outlined steps including an MOU with the foundation, strategic equity investments, and approval for a unit as a Canton Network super validator.
