Shinhan Bank is joining hands with Yonsei University Technology Holdings Co to discover startups based on university technology and support their growth.
Shinhan Bank said on Oct. 7 it signed a business agreement on Oct. 6 at Yonsei University’s main building in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul, with Yonsei University Technology Holdings Co for a “strategic partnership to support the growth of innovative technology startups”.
The two organisations will cooperate on jointly finding promising prospective founders and innovative technology startups, investment and incubation for startups, participation in and linkages to the TIPS programme, and providing infrastructure and networks related to technology commercialisation, investment and startup incubation.
Yonsei University Technology Holdings Co is the university-sector implementing organisation for the Ministry of Science and ICT’s 2026 project on “technology management promotion (fostering comprehensive specialised technology commercialisation companies)”, and is supporting commercialisation, investment and incubation for promising technologies and innovative companies.
Shinhan Bank will link accelerating programmes from Shinhan Futures Lab and Shinhan Square Bridge for companies discovered and recommended by Yonsei University Technology Holdings Co. It also plans to support opportunities to participate in TIPS through Shinhan Venture Investment, as well as financial, management and finance consulting.
The two organisations plan to form a working-level consultative body to flesh out detailed cooperative projects, including company discovery and support programmes.
Lee Jong-gu (이종구), head of Shinhan Bank’s Sales Promotion Group 1, said, “We will support commercialisation and growth of innovative companies by linking Yonsei University Technology Holdings’ capabilities to discover technologies and companies with Shinhan Bank’s finance and investment infrastructure.”
