Parameta completes PoC with Shinhan EZ Insurance on deposit token-based insurance process
Web3 enabler Parameta (formerly ICONLOOP) said on Tuesday it completed a proof of concept with Shinhan EZ Insurance covering a blockchain-based insurance process using deposit tokens. The test covered premium payments and claim payouts as well as the end-to-end workflow from product creation to settlement. The companies said they validated a structure that can verify decision grounds and processing histories and track judgment data and records using external indicators such as weather.

Shinhan Financial signs MOU with Bank of Korea to promote deposit tokens
Shinhan Financial Group signed an agreement with the Bank of Korea on Wednesday to promote innovation in digital financial infrastructure based on deposit tokens. The deal is aimed at supporting the central bank-led second real-transaction pilot project for deposit tokens, known as Project Hangang. The two sides plan to explore services people can use in daily life and discuss directions for building next-generation financial infrastructure.

Shinhan Bank joins Project Hangang phase 2
Shinhan Bank said on Tuesday it will join the second phase of the Bank of Korea’s digital currency pilot, Project Hangang, to expand the use of deposit token-based payment services across everyday life. The phase aims to test the commercial viability of a digital currency payment infrastructure by enabling customers to use deposit tokens in real settings and by enhancing functions such as person-to-person transfers, interest payments and automatic conversion.
