Oura unveils 40 percent smaller Oura Ring 5
Smart ring maker Oura has unveiled the Oura Ring 5, which it says is 40 percent smaller than the previous generation. The company is also expanding AI-based health management features and subscription services. Shipments begin on June 4. The base model costs $399, while premium finishes cost $499, and a portable charging case is sold separately for $99. New features include Health Radar, blood pressure pattern tracking during sleep and GLP-1 Insights.

Kalshi raises $1 billion at $22 billion valuation, doubles in five months
Prediction market startup Kalshi raised $1 billion in a Series F round that valued the company at $22 billion, TechCrunch reported on May 7. The valuation doubled from $11 billion in the Series E round five months earlier. Coatue led the round, with Sequoia, Andreessen Horowitz and Paradigm participating. Bloomberg reported Kalshi\'s annual revenue has surpassed $1.5 billion.

Paradigm pushes development of prediction-market trading terminal, considers market-making desk
Venture capital firm Paradigm is pushing ahead with development of a prediction-market trading terminal, Fortune reported, citing anonymous sources. The report said Paradigm partner Arjun Balaji is leading the effort. Paradigm is also reviewing an internal market-making desk for prediction markets and the operation of a prediction-market index. Paradigm is a major investor in U.S. prediction-market platform Kalshi and has led multiple funding rounds.
