Ethereum \'Glamsterdam\' to go live on Sepolia testnet on Oct. 6
Ethereum will apply its next major upgrade, dubbed Glamsterdam, to the Sepolia testnet on Oct. 6, Cointelegraph reported on Sept. 29 local time. The timing for deployment on the mainnet has not been decided. The Ethereum Foundation said node operators must update both execution- and consensus-layer clients before Sepolia activation. The upgrade includes in-protocol proposer-builder separation, block-level access lists and changes to the gas pricing system.

Ethereum\'s next upgrade, Glamsterdam, is entering its final stage, with related work including EIP-7928 nearing completion. Testing continues on a developer network, with the first public test, the Sepolia fork, scheduled for Oct. 6. Ethereum has launched the Platåberget public testnet to verify its next upgrade, dubbed Glamsterdam. The testnet is intended as an early testing venue in a public setting to check how Ethereum operates after the upgrade. The Ethereum Foundation introduced Platåberget as an initial testing space, with a testnet fork scheduled for Aug. 20. Key items include ePBS, gas repricing, Block-Level Access Lists and a new builder API flow.
