MSIT to revamp ABLE blockchain forum to address AI and digital assets
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT plans to expand and reorganise its blockchain demand-supply forum, ABLE, into a business growth support platform to respond to new markets such as AI and digital assets. The ministry held a regular ABLE seminar in Seoul on Aug. 13 with KISA, featuring presentations on global digital asset ecosystems, financial sector demand and overseas projects. It also hosted one-on-one business matching and plans an IR Demo Day on Aug. 14.

Toss says it will open money 3.0 era, outlines borderless finance super-app vision
Viva Republica, operator of Toss, said on March 13 it has presented a vision for a transition to a “money 3.0” era led by programmable money and stablecoins, beyond physical money and electronic money. At a blockchain meetup conference in Seoul, it unveiled its future finance blueprint and disclosed its stablecoin strategy for the first time. An executive said Toss aims to complete a borderless finance super-app by redesigning money across boundaries.

KISA to hold 2026 Blockchain Academic Exchange Meeting on March 12
The Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) will hold the “2026 Blockchain Academic Exchange Meeting (Meetup Conference)” on March 12 at the Seoul Textile Center with the Ministry of Science and ICT. KISA has hosted the annual meeting since 2022 to explore development directions for the blockchain industry. This year’s theme addresses blockchain as a trust technology in digital transformation and will discuss applications and financial-use directions, including stablecoins.
