The Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) will hold the “2026 Blockchain Academic Exchange Meeting (Meetup Conference)” on March 12 at the Seoul Textile Center with the Ministry of Science and ICT.

KISA has held the Blockchain Academic Exchange Meeting every year since 2022 to explore development directions for the blockchain industry.

This year, under the theme “Trust Becomes Infrastructure: The Digital Economy Opened by Blockchain and Stablecoins,” the event will focus on blockchain’s role as a trust technology and its scope of use in the digital transformation process. In the afternoon session, it plans to specifically discuss policy and technical application cases for blockchain and directions for use in finance, centering on a “digital trust foundation” and a “value-stable digital asset (stablecoin) ecosystem.”

Dae-gyu Shin (신대규), head of KISA’s Digital Infrastructure Headquarters, said the event would serve as an opportunity to confirm that blockchain is expanding and becoming established as a technology that supports the trust foundation of the digital economy. He added KISA would continue working to raise the level of trust in the digital environment centered on blockchain technology.
