Court rejects Webzen injunction bid against \'Dragonsword\'; Steam release to proceed as planned
Hound13 said on Wednesday that the Seoul Central District Court rejected Webzen\'s request for a provisional injunction to block the release of \'Dragonsword: Awakening\'. The dispute arose after Webzen failed to pay a minimum guarantee under a publishing contract, after which Hound13 terminated the deal. The court found the termination valid and rejected claims of unauthorised use of translations. The game is set for release on Steam as planned.

NCSoft loses first-instance copyright lawsuit against ROM; court says elements are in realm of ideas
NCSoft lost a first-instance lawsuit seeking to halt alleged copyright infringement by Kakao Games and RedLab Games over the MMORPG ROM: Remember Of Majesty, the legal community said. The Seoul Central District Court ruled that major elements NCSoft cited from Lineage W, including transformation, enhancement, item collection and PvP systems, fall in the realm of ideas rather than protected expression. The court also rejected NCSoft’s unfair competition claim and dismissed all requests.
