111Percent said on April 9 it won a partial first-instance ruling in its infringement lawsuit against New Normal Soft over the mobile game "Luck-Driven Zone Many Game".
The Seoul Central District Court's 63rd civil division, presided over by Judge Lee Gyu-young (이규영), ruled on April 2 that New Normal Soft engaged in unfair competition and ordered it to pay 557 million won plus delay interest to 111Percent.
The lawsuit began with the issue of whether "Just Stop Coming In", released by New Normal Soft in November 2024, copied elements of "Luck-Driven Zone Many Game". At the time of release, allegations were raised that it copied the gameplay method and user interface. 111Percent sought a court ruling to protect its intellectual property.
The court found that the way 111Percent combined and expressed elements of "Luck-Driven Zone Many Game" is a legally protected subject distinct from existing games. It also recognized that "Just Stop Coming In" implements the progression mechanism and structure of "Luck-Driven Zone Many Game".
The court ruled that New Normal Soft's use of this infringed 111Percent' achievements and ran counter to fair commercial practices and competitive order.
111Percent CEO Kang-an Kim (김강안) said, "Efforts to protect creative achievements and value have been recognized through this ruling," and added, "We will do our utmost to protect IP."
