South Korea\'s industry ministry begins work on five-year semiconductor master plan
South Korea\'s Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy has begun drafting a legally mandated five-year master plan to strengthen semiconductor industry competitiveness. The ministry said it held a kickoff meeting on Sept. 1 to discuss policy directions and cross-government tasks for 2027 to 2031. The plan is based on a special law and enforcement decree that took effect on Aug. 11. Experts will refine proposals through four subcommittees, with final confirmation expected within this year.
