Nvidia packs Vera Rubin AI factory into single container, cuts data centre build time from 6 months to 2 weeks

Nvidia on Tuesday unveiled DSX POD, a reference design it said can sharply reduce the time needed to build AI data centres. The system has partners assemble a modular container-based AI factory built on Nvidia’s Vera Rubin platform, with computing, networking, cabling, rack-level power and liquid cooling integrated and installed at a manufacturing plant. Nvidia said this can cut on-site build time from 6 months to as little as 14 days.

Apple unveils smart home lineup to launch door lock, doorbell and cameras in December

Apple has unveiled a new smart home lineup called the Apple Home Collection, bundling a smart door lock, video doorbell, thermostat, temperature sensor and security cameras. TechCrunch reported the products will work with a new smart home hub called HomeView and will launch in December. Apple also introduced a $399.95 floodlight camera and said the camera lineup includes real-time viewing, motion detection, smart alerts and video storage.

Apple to unveil HomeView smart home hub, with Siri AI and November launch planned

Apple is expected to unveil its new smart home hub, HomeView, on Oct. 13, with a launch expected in mid-November. The device is expected to serve as a central controller for Apple-based smart homes and feature Siri AI. Reports say it will have a roughly 6-inch square touchscreen and come in desk and wall-mounted versions. Apple is also expected to announce new Apple TV and HomePod mini models and expand its ecosystem with LG.
