Foxconn, a global electronics manufacturer, and Schneider Electric, a specialist in data centre power and cooling, are moving to jointly develop AI data centre infrastructure.
Techzine reported on June 15 that products co-developed by the two companies will enter production within this year. Foxconn will produce AI system hardware, while Schneider Electric will handle data centre power supply, cooling and energy management.
The companies plan to jointly develop standard AI data centre designs that can be applied worldwide. They will also study modular power and cooling systems and technologies that optimise energy consumption to match AI environment loads.
Foxconn CEO Young Liu (류 영) said a new way is needed to design and supply infrastructure in line with the pace of AI development. He said combining Foxconn's manufacturing capabilities with Schneider Electric's expertise in power will help customers build AI infrastructure faster.
Schneider Electric CEO Olivier Blum (올리비에 블룸) said AI growth is boosting demand for power and cooling. He stressed that the linkage between IT infrastructure and energy management is becoming increasingly important in data centre operations.
