South Korea\'s KOSPI fell more than 2 percent in early trade on Tuesday, sliding into the 7,400s as foreign investors extended net selling for a fifth straight session. At 9:11 a.m., the index was down 173.75 points, or 2.27 percent, at 7,469.40. Individuals and institutions were net buyers, while foreigners were net sellers. The won weakened against the dollar.

KOSPI closes above 7,300 for first time as foreigners buy over 3 trillion won

South Korea\'s KOSPI surged more than 6 percent on Tuesday and closed above the 7,300 mark for the first time, setting a fresh high for the year after touching 7,426.60 intraday. The index ended up 447.57 points at 7,384.56. Foreign investors were net buyers of 3.13 trillion won, while individuals and institutions sold. The won strengthened to 1,454.30 per dollar.
