KB Financial holds second-half executive workshop to flesh out WM, CIB, AI tasks
KB Financial Group held a workshop for group executives to discuss the direction of its 2027-2029 mid- to long-term management strategy and review execution tasks by affiliate. The group focused on five core agendas: wealth management and pensions, small and midsize corporate sales, corporate and investment banking, insurance, and AI. About 270 executives attended the event, held July 10-11 in Sacheon, South Gyeongsang province.

Naver, KAI to jointly develop defence-focused AI foundation model
Naver, Naver Cloud and Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) will jointly develop an artificial intelligence model optimised for defence and a physical AI-based future combat system platform, the companies said on Tuesday. They will first pursue a defence-focused AI foundation model to reduce security risks and strengthen defence technology self-reliance. The partners plan to join government-led national R&D projects and block-funding programmes using the jointly developed model.

South Korea sets 2030 moon landing bid with public-private small lander
South Korea aims to secure a 3 percent share of the global aerospace market by 2035 by building a Korean low-Earth-orbit satellite communications network, developing a public-private lunar lander and advancing reusable launch vehicles. The government plans to bring forward its first lunar landing to 2030 by launching a small lunar lander jointly developed with private companies. It also plans to expand policy from R&D to demand creation and broaden support to materials, parts, equipment and satellite data use.
