Tab personal AI agent emerges at $300 million valuation

Personal AI agent startup Tab has emerged with a valuation of $300 million, TechCrunch reported. Brennan Arbes (브레넌 어브즈), Stafford Schlit (스태퍼드 슐릿) and Ammar Amdani (암마르 암다니) began developing it earlier this year. Users send tasks via iMessage or WhatsApp, and Tab carries them out. The investment included SV Angel, Bala Ventures and American Spirit. The company says it does not use user data to train AI.

Subscription- and ad-free local AI assistant Underdog launches, revenue to come from payment fees

Conway Research has launched an invite-only beta of its on-device AI assistant, Underdog. The service currently runs fully on Mac and Windows 11 PCs, with Linux, iPhone and Android versions in the works. It focuses on privacy by encrypting account keys and running AI inference on the device using its Husky engine. The company plans to keep the assistant free and ad-free, and seek revenue from small fees tied to transactions handled through Stripe.
