How long can memory, SSD prices keep rising? Supply shortages may last
Prices for the latest DDR5 DRAM have surged to nearly five times higher over the past year, and forecasts say SSD supply shortages could last until 2030. Wccftech, citing German retail data, reported DDR5 prices in mid-August were up to 486 percent of their July 2025 level. Embedded SSD prices in Germany rose 7.7 percent in a month and are about 2.2 times higher than before shortages. Industry executives and analysts warn supply expansion may take longer than expected.

Fadu Q2 operating profit 16.3 billion won, up 112 percent from previous quarter
Fadu posted second-quarter revenue of 73.2 billion won and operating profit of 16.3 billion won, it said on Sunday. Revenue rose 208.9 percent from a year earlier and operating profit swung to a profit. Compared with the previous quarter, revenue increased 22.9 percent and operating profit rose 111.6 percent. First-half revenue totalled 132.7 billion won and operating profit was 24.0 billion won, turning from a loss a year earlier.

Azicland joins SK Hynix as development partner for next-generation enterprise SSD based on TSMC advanced process
Azicland will participate as a key partner in SK Hynix’s development of a next-generation enterprise solid-state drive, the company said on Sunday. Azicland said it signed a contract to provide customised design services and tape-out support for the development of SK Hynix’s next enterprise SSD controller. The contract is worth 31.9 billion won and runs from May 27, 2025 to Dec. 31, 2027. Azicland said the scope includes design, verification and manufacturing execution after commercialisation.
