U.S. to spend $5.25 billion on grid upgrades in 26 states, target 23 GW added capacity
The U.S. government will pursue power grid upgrades worth $5.25 billion across 26 states to meet surging electricity demand, with the federal government covering $1.9 billion. The Energy Department selected 31 projects under its SPARK program, with utilities, cooperatives and state agencies funding $3.35 billion. The plan includes rebuilding more than 1,500 miles of transmission lines and applying performance technologies across about 21,000 miles to add over 23 GW of capacity.

Meta AI agent Muse tops App Store, overtaking ChatGPT
Meta\'s AI agent app Muse has risen to the top of the free app charts, overtaking OpenAI\'s ChatGPT and intensifying competition in personal AI assistants, foreign media reported. Muse handles tasks such as web browsing, booking library books and sending emails. It has held the No. 1 spot on the U.S. App Store and Google Play since its launch and has more than 3.4 million downloads, Sensor Tower said.

Google plans to release its next-generation AI model, Gemini 4, much earlier than the end of this year, a tech publication reported, citing The Information. Google DeepMind executive Koray Kavukcuoglu said Gemini 4 would arrive \"much sooner\" than year-end. The model is in a post-training stage, with base training completed, the report said. It is unclear whether the Pro or Flash version will come first.
