Digital Asset raises additional $10 million from Shinhan Financial, SC Ventures

Digital Asset, developer of the Canton blockchain, has raised an additional $10 million from South Korea’s Shinhan Financial Group and Standard Chartered’s SC Ventures. TheBlock reported the investment increased the company’s ongoing funding round to $365 million from $355 million, at the same $2 billion valuation as the previous round. Digital Asset last month announced a $355 million fundraising led by a16z crypto with participation from major institutions.

DSRV to supply staking infrastructure to Japan\'s SBI VC Trade

Blockchain infrastructure technology company DSRV will supply staking infrastructure to SBI VC Trade, a digital asset exchange under Japan\'s SBI Group. DSRV said on Tuesday it signed a staking infrastructure supply contract with SBI VC Trade. Under the deal, DSRV will participate as a service provider supporting the operation of SBI VC Trade\'s staking service. SBI VC Trade is registered with Japan\'s Financial Services Agency and provides trading and custody services.

Japan\'s SBI VC Trade tops 2 million accounts as yen weakness drives growth

SBI VC Trade, a digital asset trading unit of Japan\'s SBI Holdings, has surpassed 2 million registered platform accounts. Account growth accelerated over about three months and includes its VCTRADE platform and the Bitpoint service. The company said demand from both individuals and institutions is rising, with a weaker yen encouraging corporate inflows and broader use of bitcoin and XRP. SBI is also expanding stablecoin and staking offerings and preparing a stablecoin lending service.
