AWS expands push into physical AI, builds operations base linking cloud and edge

As physical AI expands into robots, industrial equipment, cameras and autonomous mobile robots, Amazon Web Services is moving to build an operating system that links the cloud and the edge. It unveiled a cloud-edge integrated solution last month for customers developing physical AI systems. AWS said key challenges include data and simulation, latency and post-deployment operations. Partners are building augmented data pipelines and AWS is offering cloud infrastructure, data services and edge management tools.

Tesla short sellers made $9 billion, but current profit or loss is unclear

Short sellers in Tesla booked about $9.008 billion in mark-to-market gains after the stock’s sharp fall, an analysis showed. The figure was calculated immediately after the July 23 drop and does not represent the group’s real-time profit or loss as of August. Tesla later fell further before rebounding. The company’s second-quarter results, weak operating profit, negative free cash flow and heavy spending on long-term projects weighed on the shares.

SpaceX shares jump again above IPO price as short interest slides

SpaceX shares rose 11 percent on Aug. 11 to close around $148, about 10 percent above its $135 IPO price. Cryptopolitan said the stock has rebounded about 41 percent from its Aug. 3 low and is up nearly 28 percent over the past week. S3 Partners estimates short interest fell to about 11 percent from 34 percent last week. Norges Bank Investment Management disclosed a roughly 0.05 percent stake worth just over $1.2 billion.
