AI context layers meant to curb wrong answers linked to higher error reporting
Companies that introduced governance-based context layers to prevent AI agents from producing wrong answers are reporting a higher rate of errors, a report cited by VentureBeat showed. Over the past six months, 68 percent of companies said confident AI-agent answers were wrong because company-related information was missing or incorrect, up from 57 percent in June. The share running governance layers rose to 32 percent from 25 percent, while repeated errors were also more common.

ECB warns stablecoin spread could undermine European bank deposit base
The European Central Bank has warned that the spread of stablecoins could eat into European banks’ retail deposits and has put forward a digital euro as a response. Executive Board member Piero Cipollone said banks that have already lost fees and transaction data to mobile payments could see their deposit base shaken. The ECB said falling deposits could weaken lending capacity and is moving ahead with a digital euro pilot planned for 2027.

Korea, Italy to step up cooperation on AI, quantum, robotics
South Korea will strengthen cooperation with Italy in advanced science and technology and ICT, including artificial intelligence, quantum and robotics. The Ministry of Science and ICT signed an MOU with Italy’s Ministry of Universities and Research in Rome on June 12 during President Lee Jae-myung’s state visit. The two sides plan joint research, researcher exchanges, policy sharing and joint use of research facilities. Cooperation in basic science and priorities for future collaboration were also discussed.
