Coupang to triple purchases of Ugok green watermelons to expand market access

Coupang will triple its direct purchases of Ugok green watermelons, a specialty of Goryeong County in North Gyeongsang Province, and sell them nationwide through its Rocket Fresh dawn-delivery service. The company will expand purchases from about 5,000 melons last year to about 15,000 this year, it said on May 12. The move follows an agreement with the Goryeong County Office to increase purchases from about 500 local farms and broaden sales channels.

Coupang supports digital shift for traditional seafood market merchants

Coupang said on April 26 it is helping merchants at traditional seafood markets expand online sales channels and shift to digital operations, driving growth into 10 billion won-revenue small and medium-sized businesses. Ten small businesses from major seafood markets and ports have joined Rocket Fresh, including sellers in Busan’s Jagalchi market and Noryangjin. Coupang said some merchants increased sales through direct transactions and early-morning delivery, while its seafood origin-direct purchasing volume rose in 2025.

Coupang Fulfillment Service holds job fair in Daegu, draws 335 applicants

Coupang Fulfillment Service (CFS) said 335 job seekers applied at a recruitment fair it held on March 26 at Yeungnam College of Science and Technology in Daegu. Fulfillment centres in Daegu and Gyeongsan joined the hiring to meet labour demand tied to rising Rocket Fresh logistics in the Yeongnam region. Roles included inbound and outbound work, inspections, forklift driving and on-site management. CFS plans another large job fair in Bucheon on April 21.
