Physical AI hinges on trustworthy hardware, demand starts from manufacturing
Hwang Myeon-jung (황면중), a professor at the University of Seoul, said the core of physical AI, including robotics AI, is hardware stability and reliable operation. He said robotics AI capability depends on perception and manipulation, and his team focuses research on improving speed and accuracy. His lab won the RoboCup 2026 ARM Challenge, sorting dozens of items in 30 minutes with near-perfect accuracy. He said manufacturing sites are a key commercialization target.

KB Financial to be main sponsor of RoboCup 2026 Incheon
KB Financial Group will sponsor RoboCup 2026 Incheon, an AI and robotics international competition described as the world’s largest. It will run an on-site space where visitors can experience AI and robot technologies and will support programmes aimed at growing the robot industry ecosystem. The event opens on July 2 at Songdo Convensia in Incheon and runs through July 6, with teams from 45 countries and about 3,000 participants.

KB Financial Group joins as main sponsor of RoboCup 2026 Incheon
KB Financial Group said on Thursday it will take part as the main sponsor of RoboCup 2026 Incheon, an international AI and robotics competition to be held at Songdo Convensia in Incheon from June 30 to July 6. The event will run 19 competitions across five divisions, including robot soccer and disaster rescue, alongside exhibitions and an academic symposium. KB Financial also plans education and support programmes for youths and university students.
