Prentis seeks $100 million funding at $1 billion valuation to automate computer office work
Prentis is negotiating to raise $100 million based on a $1 billion valuation, TechCrunch reported. The company says it is developing AI agents that handle repetitive office work directly on computers by learning employees’ routine workflows across documents and business systems. It aims to automate tasks such as insurance claims and customs refund exception handling. TechCrunch said Prentis has signed contracts worth up to $50 million with several customers.

200 Nobel laureates and big tech leaders warn AI job shock must be prepared for now
About 200 economists, big tech executives and AI researchers have released an open letter urging governments and industry to prepare policies for the possibility that AI will replace large numbers of jobs. Led by Stanford Digital Economy Lab, the letter says AI could become far more powerful over the next decade and that institutions and safeguards must be built quickly. It calls for analyzing AI’s economic impact and designing incentives and protections to spread productivity gains while reducing employment risks.

Work by voice spreads in AI era as AI dictation becomes a tech battleground
