Google unveiled new AI features and pricing plans at I/O 2026, focusing on search, a digital assistant and smart glasses. It said it will expand an intelligent AI search box globally, allowing inputs beyond text such as images, video files and entire Chrome tabs, with follow-up queries handled in an AI mode based on Gemini 3.5 Flash. Google cuts AI Ultra monthly price to $100 from $250
Google has adjusted the monthly price of its top-tier AI subscription plan, AI Ultra, to $100 from $250. It keeps three subscription tiers and includes core Gemini app features across plans. AI Pro remains $20 a month and adds broader access plus YouTube Premium Lite and future Workspace Google Fix. AI Ultra offers higher usage limits and additional services, while a separate $200 option adds Project Genie access and higher limits. Storage for Ultra is reduced to 20TB from 30TB.

AI is a tool, not a threat: Game companies step up efficiency strategies after Genie 3 shock
Major South Korean game companies have unveiled strategies to respond to Google DeepMind\'s AI game-making model Project Genie 3, which has jolted the global gaming industry. NCSoft, Krafton and Kakao Games said AI is unlikely to replace high-quality game development in the near term. They plan to use AI to improve productivity across development and operations, reduce outsourcing costs and seek opportunities to expand into new businesses over the medium to long term.
