AI-focused M&A gains pace as big cloud firms step up security expansion
M&A activity is picking up as the security industry reshapes around AI. Databricks is acquiring AI-based cyberattack detection startup Panther Labs, its third cybersecurity deal this year after Antimatter and SiftD. Identity security firm SailPoint Technologies is buying AI agent security startup Entro Security. Big cloud providers are also moving faster on security, with AWS launching an AI platform and Google Cloud supporting local data residency in its Seoul region.

Piolink targets N2SF market with switch-based micro-segmentation technology
Piolink said on Sunday it completed patent registrations in South Korea, the United States and Japan for a technology that implements micro-segmentation using its Tfront security switch. The company said the technology enables zero-trust-based micro-segmentation through network infrastructure itself, without installing separate agents or adding security equipment. It said it can reduce deployment complexity and costs and help institutions prepare for a transition to the National Network Security Framework (N2SF).

Piolink says it aims to leap into cyber resilience technology company
Piolink on April 23 held the “Piolink Resilience Summit 2026” at The Westin Josun Seoul Parnas and underscored its identity as a technology company focused on strengthening cyber resilience. Chief executive Cho Young-cheol said resilience that sustains business during crises is central to corporate survival and growth. He said perfect defence is impossible and stressed maintaining services and rapid recovery after attacks.
